Greg and friends on the way to Narrandera, in the '70s.

The transmission is the ubiquitous Turbo-350 3 speed auto, which has been reconditioned and fitted with a 1900 RPM stall speed torque converter. Greg is seriously considering an overdrive auto for the '32 Tudor, but the Roadster has a 3.00:1 final drive ratio, so it lazes along at pretty low revs.

The steering box is an HQ Holden unit; the mention of which allows us to move the discussion to the vehicle's interior.  Darryl made the steering column, and it uses a comfortable rubber gripped Grant steering wheel. A Lokar shifter stands out in this interior, and also provides a good spot to hang your hat.

R & R Trimmers, of Toowoomba, did the interior in a tan colour, and then trimmed the Vintek one piece lift-off fibreglass roof in a Salt-n-Pepper colour. Autometer Gauges "Old Time" series, as sold by the staff at Superformance, are mounted in the dash.

The Roadster has American Torq-Thrust D's all around, and they are 15 x 6 up front, and 15 x 8½ on the rear axle; the rears use Kumho 255/70 x 15 tyres, the fronts are Kumho 165 x 15s.

n the mid 90’s, Greg became a member of the Texas, USA based Deuces Ltd. club, and decided to start the same concept here in 2002 . Again, Greg was a founding member of Deuces Limited, which now has 26 members, all of whom are as nice a bunch of narrow minded bigots as you would ever hope to meet.

Greg located a steel Tudor in Arizona, and encouraged by the lovely Anita, bought it and shipped it home. Warren Wilkie from Toowoomba Rod Shop has already panel beaten the car, and it now sits on a Deuce Customs chassis, with the 'standard' Hot Rod set up - 4 bar front and back, Magnum 4" dropped I-beam axle at the front and an 8" Ford rear end.

Greg & Anita have two sons who love (but can’t afford) Street Rods, so they love driving Dad's Hot Rods. Danny recently married, and used the roadster, along with Doug Mole's '33 Tudor to go to the ceremony in style. Chris takes after his Dad in the daredevil department - being one of the original freestyle motocross riders in Australia. He can be seen most weekends hanging from his bike 30 feet up!

We asked Greg to demonstrate how the anti-theft device works, and got a real shock at how simple and effective it really was.

The collection is huge, and some of the best stuff is out of frame.

Greg is debating whether to keep this lot - he might get around to a hemi powered '32 sometime in the future, and there is also a spare flatmotor, just in case.

Model A coupe parts, Model A Roadster cowl - and he told us he was a '32 bigot. Maybe not.

Warren Wilkie has beaten this thing into shape, and it is getting closer to completion every week. '32 Tudors are highly sought after, firstly because they are '32s, and secondly, because they can provide a degree of comfort that is hard to get in a Roadster.
