Yamba,
'08.
The weather held
out most of the weekend, though the Saturday night thunderstorm is
not uncommon. When most were on their way home Sunday, storms lashed
south-east Queensland a northern New South Wales, making for a slow,
wet trip back home. None of that had the slightest impact on the
run's overall success though, as you can see here.

Flathead V8 power is proudly advertised on the
radiator of this A pickup, built in the traditional style.

Ron Solomon's '41 Willys coupe isn't really this
colour, but it is hard to get the shade right, as it is so bright.

A pro '32 in more ways than one, Murray Teale's
fully fendered roadster oozes class and attention to detail.

Gary Wright bought his '31 coupe on e-Bay, then
went to the US to pick it up. He has plans to personalise the tasty
little coupe.

Neil Smith's poster orange '32 3-window is both
colorful and well detailed. The dropped headlight bar & chop help
with the hot rod look.

Brian (Taxman) McLinden & Ray
Lester have had their cars featured in
these hallowed pages.

Chad & Nicole Lackey and Shane Snape's new
'32 3 window are shown here in a lineup of prize winning cars.

Paul Simpson's big block powered '40 Chevy coupe
has undergone considerable change since he bought it.

A streetscape of the parade area, with Daniel McDougall's
bright green hiboy in the foreground.

Graeme Martin knows how to hop up an
Aussie-bodied '34 coupe - just like this.

There are chopped '32 sedans - then there is this
one. A crowd-puller at every show, the flaming beauty is worth a
peek.

Dale Meredith's Mopar uses the ultimate in Mopar
power plants - an early Desoto hemi with a trio of Demons.

As the cars are lined up in random order, it was
quite unusual to get such a group of '30\31 Model As. It also provided
us with an unusual photo opportunity.

Trent Hamel's hiboy rumpity rumps around the
park; the cammy idle sounds like pure hot rod.

Kiwi Pete's nifty '32 roadster had a whole new
look, due entirely to a change in wheels.

Nearly original in appearance, this flatty
powered '34 5-window looks just like as it might have appeared in
the fifties.

Merv Rider's '35 Chevy roadster, and Gary Willions' '31 coupe
look great together, in a rare display of primary colours.

Bruce Draman entered this '35 3-window coupe, and
it had a for sale sign on it; $42k.

Mick Dillon has changed his great old roadster a
little, replacing the steel top with a soft top. Now everyone wants
him in their hot rod club.

Johnnie Walker has given his '34 roadster a
thorough going over - many thought that this was a newly registered
car.
