Some roadsters have all the right bits - Chick
Koszis has put the right stuff together; Moon tank, American
5-spokes, lakester headers, dropped & drilled axle, blown SBC &
heaps of travel bugs.

Those old Buick nail-heads sure do dress up well,
especially with finned covers & a tri-carb setup. Mike Keeler's
deuce coupe uses drilled backing plates and other period correct
bits to place it way back in a simpler era.

Fred Ruth owns this show worthy deuce hiboy - the
fabulous candy apple helped it take out Pros Pick.

There were lots of '37s, though this cabriolet
may be the rarest of the original body styles. Gary Lavaysse, from
Sonoma CA owns this old girl, seen here in her underwear.

Another award was the Aussie Pick,
which was presented by Queenslanders & former Rods Inc
members Tracey Chisolm & Rod Cahill.

Seen here receiving the PPG Outstanding Use
of Color award, this '41 Willys coupe sure does that in spades.

Brian Davis' flathead equipped '36 5-window could
have just rolled out of a time warp from the fifties, except that
few rods from that dimension were as well detailed as this classy
coupe.

If GM had thought ahead a bit more, they would
have seen that the '37 Chevy sedan delivery, with the severely
lowered lid option, would appeal to ... almost everyone.

In 1931, Edsel Ford was using styling cues that
would be used in 1932 - the slant windscreen & the Victoria body
style are just some. Old favourites, like valance panels, would
vanish forever.

Chip Foose picked this very tasteful '41 Ford
convertible as Chips Pick, and we can see why.

Outrageously radical, the T Tudor hiboy embodies
all those things (except maybe for the paint) that are found in a
top level radical rod - hence the award.

The Event Director Pick award went to this
immaculate '32 Tudor - note the unusual, perhaps unique hood side
louvres.

There isn't a great deal needed to make an early
A sedan delivery stand out, but the owner of this one went to the
bother anyway.

Pagano Rod & Custom built this superbly crafted
deuce hiboy for Paul & Patty Cannon, then named it the 'Cannon
Special'.

Econo-rods are making a comeback, what with the
high gas prices. Fred Mauldin's phone-booth A pickup wouldn't take
much juice to get here from Santa Clara; it has a 4.3l Chevy V6 &
that gets it along just fine.

The Lady Rodders Pick award went to this
very classy 1934 Buick 6 wheel equipped Victoria coupe.

Another ISCA Pick award winner, this
Chevy pickup uses gold fogging over metallic green paint to make a
mild custom statement.
