Los Angeles Roadsters Show, '09. The swap meet is at least well known as the 'other' Pomona swap meet, and many bargains were there to be had. Prices had become a little more realistic since the economic downturn, which point most buyers were happy about.

Both the Ardun OHV conversion, S.C.O.T. supercharged & Hunt magneto sparked side valves appear to have the new alloy blocks! The one on the right was polished!

Built some years ago, this '32 hiboy uses both a hi-tech engine, and a hi-tech front end. The engine is an all alloy 4.0L Toyota\Lexus 4 cam V8, with colour matched individual fuel injection rams.

Bruce Burton's Olds powered '32 3-window hiboy has a great candy paint job, and loads of meticulous workmanship. The steering arm hanging out the side lends a touch of lakes modified to the look..

Rob Lowes '28 RP has a Mooneyham blower poking through the hood, which should make for fast trips to the local recycle centre.

This is one of the cleanest front ends ever built. Note the turn signals recessed into the tube axle's bat wings. The suspension cranks hint at longitudinal torsion bars.

We didn't find out what this woodie was originally, but it is now an extremely low, swoopy, mostly hand made custom that would be at home in any sweepstakes indoor hot rod show.

This had to be the deal of the day - Frank Sloan's nice looking '34 Phaeton was for sale for just $32,000. I'd bet that it went very quickly.

The '33 S-type is a special creation by Chuck Lombardo & the crew at California Street Rods, for the owner, Bob Rosenthal. Based on a Speed 33 body, it features loads of custom body work, and a supercharged Jaguar engine.
