Both the Ardun OHV conversion, S.C.O.T.
supercharged & Hunt magneto sparked side valves appear to have the
new alloy blocks! The one on the right was polished!

Built some years ago, this '32 hiboy uses both a
hi-tech engine, and a hi-tech front end. The engine is an all alloy
4.0L Toyota\Lexus 4 cam V8, with colour matched individual fuel
injection rams.

We've seen many examples of competition styled
roadsters; many of them include Hemis. Larry Wick's hiboy uses tall
injectors to make a statement.

Just one photo doesn't do justice to the depth of
the perfect paint & bodywork of Gary Van Fife's '36 roadster. It is
perfect.

Bruce Burton's Olds powered '32 3-window hiboy
has a great candy paint job, and loads of meticulous workmanship.
The steering arm hanging out the side lends a touch of lakes
modified to the look..

Where else would you see such a collection of
ultra nice '34 roadsters? The LA Roadsters club has many Model 40's
in their ranks.

The candy apple red sets this Speedster apart, as
does the rare Whyknot engine.

The 4-banger crowd has some lovely cars -this '28
roadster pickup is expertly detailed while staying true to the
banger creed. Check the OHV head.

The owner of this fabulous '36 3-window must be a
traditionalist, what with the chopped top, skirts, customising,
suede paint etc.

Rob Lowes '28 RP has a Mooneyham blower poking
through the hood, which should make for fast trips to the local
recycle centre.

This is one of the cleanest front ends ever
built. Note the turn signals recessed into the tube axle's bat
wings. The suspension cranks hint at longitudinal torsion bars.

The front end is a clever arrangement of levers,
pivots & gas coil-overs.

Ed Woods is a bona-fide Old Fart -
that's the name of the club he belongs to. The rare B-400, with warm
flathead, reinforces the point.

What's not a roadster, but has a fold down top,
wind up windows, a hefty Cadillac mill and bright red paint? Vern
Schubarth's '32 Cabriolet, thats what.

See how the interior and wheels match, in this
smooth '30 Model A roadster. Another superbly finished vehicle -
check the straightness of the flanks & the deck lid.

A Roush built fuel injected small block Ford
engine powers John Buck's stylish '34 roadster.

The '33 - '34 corral had all manner of Model 40,
as this warm Greyhound would have observed.

If you need reminding of exactly what channeling
is, take a look at the difference in height between the two 5-window
coupes.

Then again, maybe not....

Bob Jamieson brought his very nice '34 Cabriolet
over from Manitou Springs, CO.

Not just the front suspension is clean - the '28
hiboy is exceptionally smooth, with no louvres, nadles, catches or
hinges to break up the classic Model A lines.

Another repro body is the Australian made '34
Tourer, from Kelvin Waddington. Local resellers can arrange for you
to have one of these classy models for relatively little.

Dan Villeneuve's deep black '32 roadster has a
way laid back screen, big lights, and a blown small block Chevy.
Could it get an better?

The lads from
Lazze
Metal Dreams came down from Pleasanton to demonstrate their
skills. The robotic looking device holds panels while the trainer,
or trainee, works on it.

We didn't find out what this woodie was
originally, but it is now an extremely low, swoopy, mostly hand made
custom that would be at home in any sweepstakes indoor hot rod show.

1933 Cabriolets are pretty thin on the ground
too, and there probably isn't another that looks exactly like this
flamed example.

In the '33 - '34 corral we can see a 3-window, a
'34 Vicky and a Tudor - all great models.

This had to be the deal of the day - Frank
Sloan's nice looking '34 Phaeton was for sale for just $32,000. I'd
bet that it went very quickly.

The '33 S-type is a special creation by
Chuck Lombardo & the crew at California Street Rods, for the owner,
Bob Rosenthal. Based on a Speed 33 body, it features loads of custom
body work, and a supercharged Jaguar engine.
