Eliminators Swap Meet & Show, 2009. Great weather, and a huge line up of interesting cars had the Beenleigh Show grounds packed to overflowing, again. The local team had just lost the semi-finals in the NRL, but the die-hards didn't let that affect their enjoyment of a great day. There were lots of new cars, some of which would be welcome in any rodders garage.

Greg & Anita Thomsen have their brand new all steel deuce Tudor on the road, and the ride to this event is but one of the trips the injected SBC powered sedan has taken in.

That sure looks like candy apple red on the sharp as a tack early A roadster. Any candy colour is an extremely hard to apply system, but this looks great.

Deuce roadsters will never go out of style, especially when the door & hood gaps are as well fitted as on this example. The ghost flames are very subtle - zoom in to see them.

Chopped '34 coupes are always in vogue, but when you add pie crust cheaters, & wide whites on chromies, this Geelong made 5-window is a stand out.

Do you have room in your budget for an A hiboy coupe? The heavily hammered hiboy sits astride a deuce frame, and uses an SBC. $45k and it is yours..

Being a right hand drive '39 Standard, we'd guess that this is a former Kiwi car, replete with triple carbs on a hot flatty, and wide white-walls.

Gary Wright brought this Chevy powered A coupe in from the US, and gets to as many events as possible.

Dave Hemsworth's '32 pickup opens wide at both ends, allowing us to peek into the inner workings of a top notch street rod. Note the huffer atop the mouse motor.

Wow, the silver paint makes this Chevy powered '34 Chevy roadster stand out from the crowd of gaudy look-alikes.

Primered commercials always look the part, and this '29 phone booth style A closed cab pickup is such an example. Did you know that they use T-coupe doors?

Another Aussie bodied car, but Ron Daw's FJ Holden convertible wasn't a factory option - it is all custom made.

These bits of tin will be exactly what some poor soul is lusting after, but how to find the right person? Well, you drag the bits to as many swap meets as possible.

But it couldn't be a former Kiwi coupe - this one is from Koolsville. No argument there, this is a very cool kemp.

Not the traditional style of A tourer, but this tri-carbed Hudson powered hiboy tub could never be mistaken for a belly-button car.

Sometimes big wheels look out of place in an early car, but this striking deuce 3-window carries it off well. The Chevy is a late centre-bolt valve cover type, fitted with a carb.

Ok, it isn't a hot rod, but who wouldn't one of these as a grocery getter? The GT-350 is near the top of the list of desirable muscle cars.

This '32 sedan delivery has had fenders fitted, giving the former hiboy hauler a completely new perspective.

Michael Meridith's A Tudor, Brad Goodhand's '35 coupe and Dick Bushell's '32 Tourer make a tasty line-up of out-of-state rods.

A cracker commercial - we'd guess at it being a repro '29 Model A, but we were wrong once before.
