Canada College,
'07.
Located in Redwood City, about 45
minutes south of San Francisco, and not far from hyper-expensive
Palo Alto, this event is called the Friendship
Day Car Show, and is popular with auto hobbyists of all forms -
street rods being just a part of the attractions. There are no
judges, no awards, no vendors and no pre-registration. In fact, the
entry fee gets the entrant a coffee and donuts - how's that for
friendship? Packard, Maserati, Rolls Royce and other famous marques were there,
as was Kerry Fehlberg, who took these shots.

Kerry rode with his pal Gunard, in a perfect example of a fad T.
Here they pull in behind a restored A coupe, on the way to the show.

Check out the tasteful striping on Rod & Katherine Baisheki's
heavily chopped '33 Tudor.

Verne Yett's all steel '41 Willys coupe looks like a refugee from
the 60's gasser wars, with a gasser style rear bumper.

Why does Dave Callalini's '28 RP look like it comes straight out of
the 50's? Because that's when it was built.

Fred Seib slid in from San Mateo, in his chopped and contoured '50
Mercury 2-door.

Some '33 owners get tired of correcting others, who mistakenly refer
to their car as a '34. Hence the number plate.

What's that peeking over the cowl of Albert Judnich's cute little
early A bone?

Hank Marsh's choice of colours on his ultra tasty '31 Tudor make it
stand out from the red cars.

Model T Tudors really are tiny, and most use the narrower Ford small
block, or V6, given the space limitations.

We are not sure that the Atherton PD owned this Mustang GT in '66,
but they do now. It was just one of a couple of police cars there.

Vern's coupe is also fitted with bigs 'n littles, and a high
stepping stance. What a gas!

Andy Brizio restored the pert pickup nearly 20 years ago, in
preparation for another 50 years on the road.

Dan & Ruth Alves worked together on this project - Dan built &
painted it, Ruth did the stitching.

Carl Asad's '34 Chevy Phaeton 2-door wore a car-bra for the trip
from Daly City, CA.

Hell, its an 'injected' hemi. Ok, the injectors may not be the real
deal, but they surely look the part.

The sloped '32 grille looks right at home on this hammered '34
5-window hiboy, as does the blown Chevy small block.

Not this intrepid rodder - that's a Chevy 350, and a
blower and a brace of side draft Weber carbs. Its tight, but it
fits.

The resto-rod look never went away, as this multi-hued '28 roadster
illustrates particularly well.

A recent local run was noteworthy in that 3 'baby' birds turned up.
There were at least 17 at this show.

Here's looking at ya. The '40 phantom roadster pickup had an
outlandish paint scheme that got plenty of attention.

Dan did the Donald Duck themed cartoons too. I would bet that they have garden
gnomes at home.

Early style American wheels on a hemi powered '32 hiboy. What else
could you want on such a sunny day?

Gunard & Kerry take the Junipero freeway north to San Francisco,
at the end of a great day.
